These mics have a near unlimited capability, even for the most ambitious of recording scenarios. It blends the excellent engineering with the fluid and malleability of a large-diaphragm capsule. These mics offer five polar patterns: omni, wide cardioid, cardioid, hyper-cardioid, and figure 8. The TLM 170R can record the natural sound of anything, including room ambiance, while leaving no sonic imprint from itself. These Neumanns work great for orchestral recordings, vocals, and speech, and they can be used either as a main or a spot mic.
