"A Living Legend" - Abbey Road Studios "Al Schmitt: The Maestro Of Recorded Sound" - New York Times
"The various techniques that Al uses are a mystery to me and it's such a joy to be working with someone who understands this magical process. More than all of this, Al is a great human being who cares deeply about what he does and the people he works with. He is admired by many recording artists and fellow engineers for these qualities." - Paul McCartney of The Beatles
"If you think about it, Al's been in the recording business pretty much since it started. He went through the progression from recording in mono with one mic and the musicians, to four mics and the musicians, then it was eight tracks and the musicians and on from there." - Steve Genewick, Engineer / Producer "He is a master of both the art of recording and fearless adaptability. While a mentor and an inspiration to many, I think Schmitt is still just an excited kid." - Niko Bolas, Engineer / Mixer
“Al Schmitt's curriculum vitae is jaw-dropping, yet his humility almost eclipses it. A History and legacy earned of the highest skill and sensibility, yet he drove to work each day quietly, giving the same quality to everyone." - Vinnie Colaiuta, Session Drummer
