Description

Dean Martin's Signed 1943 Radio Show Contract with Authenticity Document

This is an extremely early contract from "The King of Cool", Dean Martin. Martin's career breakthrough came in 1946 when he teamed up with comedian Jerry Lewis to form the comedy duo Martin & Lewis, but this contract was signed on October 6th, 1943. At this point in his career, Martin had just left singing for Cleveland bandleader Sammy Watkins and started performing in New York. This radio contract is between Blue Network Company and Dean Martin for performing with Joe Rines and Orchestra from 10:50pm to 11:00pm. Blue Network was one of two radio stations owned by NBC. To have any contract from Dean Martin is rare, but having one so early in his career makes it even more special. To date this is the earliest known contract by Martin to surface in the market.
