1970's Grateful Dead owned White Instruments Series 4001 equalizer, serial #410.

Unit covers 40hz - 16khz. 2U high. XLR in/outs on rear with hand labled "2 / Hi" and "1 / Lo" on XLRs.

Used on stage by the Grateful Dead, the White EQ's allowed pinpoint frequency adjustments for both individual instruments, and in stereo pairs for monitor and main PA mixes.

"DIGA" hand etched on rear, likely signifying use with Diga Rhythm Band which included Mickey Hart, Zakir Hussein, Jerry Garcia and others. Diga Rhythm Band released a self titled LP on Grateful Dead/Round Records in 1976 and played with Jerry Garcia in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco on May 30th, 1975.

White Instrument EQ's were used by the Grateful Dead for both instruments and PA use during the 1970's. Obtained from Bill "Kidd" Candelario's Grateful Dead storage locker.
